Pre-First Class Assignments in Accelerated Program
The American Women’s College Undergraduate Program Curriculum Model – Pre-First Class Assignments
Students in The American Women’s College undergraduate degree and certificate programs are required to prepare for their first class period by completing assignments that are substantial and substantive. This advance work is planned to be equal to the amount of work normally accomplished in one in-class period. Students become actively engaged in their learning and in the course content in advance of their entering the classroom. Because the students have access, not only to the syllabus, but also to their professor, they may and often do also contact the professor with questions about the assignment, or about the material itself. All syllabi for The American Women’s College Must include these preliminary assignments.
Graduate Program Eight-Week Curriculum Model – Pre-First Class Assignments
Students in eight-week graduate degree programs are required to prepare for their first class period by being given assignments that are substantial and substantive. Similar to the undergraduate TAWC requirement, this advance work is planned to be equal to the amount of work normally accomplished in one in-class period. All syllabi for eight-week graduate programs must include these preliminary assignments. Graduate programs in the weekend format will determine equivalent assignments on a program-by-program basis.
