Introduction to Student Resources & Services
Every higher education institution is filled with an array of different offices and departments. It can be confusing for any student new to that institution to understand what some of these names mean or where to go for help. The following are some key offices within the higher education community that will deepen your understanding of how we operate and what supports we offer.
High-Level Offices
Academic Affairs
Academic Affairs is the area that oversees academic programs and departments at the University, including support of curriculum initiatives, faculty hiring and promotion, research and teaching, professional development, and all academic departments and programs.
Academic Department Chairs
Department Chairs are faculty members who have direct responsibility for the curriculum and instruction in their respective departments. Questions about your degree or program that cannot be answered by your academic advisor may be directed to the Department Chair of a student’s degree program. Problems or concerns in any course should first be directed to the course instructor for resolution.
Advancement Office
The Advancement Office includes Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, and Leadership Giving, as well as stewardship of donors. The Office connects graduates to the life of the University through programming, volunteer opportunities and communications and actions that promote engagement and financial support of the institution. Fundraising efforts include special campaigns that generate support for key initiatives of the University and students, including scholarships for today's students and support programs and initiatives across campus.
President’s Office
The President’s Office is responsible for providing vision and leadership for the entire University. President Sandra Doran serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Bay Path / Cambridge College. President Doran works closely with the Board of Trustees and members of the Bay Path / Cambridge College Communities in this leadership role.
In recognition of our multi-campus system, Cambridge College has an on-campus executive-level leader, Dennis Madigan, who serves as the Vice President and General Manager for the Boston and Puerto Rico campuses.
Public Relations & Communications
The Office of Public Relations & Communications is the voice for the mission of the University. It comprises three main areas: 1) institutional communications, public & media relations, and branding, including management of the University website and social media; 2) corporate and foundation relations, including securing federal grants in support of the University’s major initiatives; and 3) Board of Trustees support and management.
