Child Care Policy
University campuses are intended as places of education, with our community members entitled to a dedicated learning environment. However, we recognize that many of our community members are also responsible for the care of children. In an effort to meet the needs of parents and guardians, while at the same time assuring that there will be little to no disruption to other members of the community, we have established the following policy regarding children and childcare on campus.
- Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times while on campus. The University is not responsible for children unattended by a parent or guardian.
- Children should not accompany their parents to class or to work except under extraordinary circumstances and with the advance permission of the professor or supervisor.
- Children under the age of 18 are not allowed in science labs, computer labs, or the equipment room of the fitness center.
- No one shall provide babysitting or other childcare services on campus.
- Guests of Bay Path University residence students who are age 14 or older are permitted to stay overnight in student rooms only with the written permission of the Director of Residence Life or their designee. Such guests must be monitored at all times by the hosting resident student.
Family-friendly events such as Reunion and Campus Day, Halloween Trunk and Treat, and other community celebrations are held throughout the year for those who wish to share the campus and community with their children and family members.
