All students are expected to respect and value the rights of others and conduct themselves as responsible citizens, both inside and outside of the classroom.  Clear expectations for student behavior are detailed in this code of conduct. Students are responsible for reviewing this code and for behaving in a manner consistent with identified standards.

Honor Pledge & Code of Conduct

"As a Bay Path University/Cambridge College student, I will honor myself and my fellow students. In making this commitment, I will act with honesty, integrity, and respect and will take responsibility for my actions."

As a member of this higher education community, guided by the honor pledge, each student is expected to act as a responsible citizen and to demonstrate respect for others in day-to-day interactions with other students, faculty, staff and visitors. The honor pledge is the foundation of the Code of Student Conduct, which exists to inform student behavior and foster ethical decision-making in students’ everyday lives in and outside of the classroom.

At the core of the Honor Pledge and Code of Conduct is respect. Consistent with this culture of respect, the purpose of the Code is to:

  • Establish standards of personal conduct for all students;
  • Provide guidance on maintaining a respectful environment for the advancement of knowledge and;
  • Foster the development of ethically sensitive and responsible persons who demonstrate a willingness to listen, and openness to gaining new insights.

Student Responsibilities & Disclaimer

In an academic community, the acceptance of responsibility for our actions, and the deeper understanding this acceptance cultivates, is paramount to the learning process and to academic and personal success. Each student is responsible to know, observe, abide by, and adhere to the Student Code of Conduct. Students must comply with all policies applicable to conduct in the classroom as well as University-sponsored activities.

The types of prohibited conduct set forth in this Code are not intended to be all-inclusive or to limit the types of inappropriate conduct that may subject a student to sanctions or disciplinary action. Other rules and regulations may also apply. In addition, certain school-, department-, or degree-specific rules, policies, or regulations (including any such rules and policies relating to licensing) may supplement or supersede this Code. These additional rules and policies may be communicated to students in publications and posted notices including, but not limited to, the Academic Catalog, enrollment contracts, the academic portal, and school-specific publications.

This Code does not govern instances of sexual misconduct/harassment committed by a student, or the process for reviewing and investigating such allegations. Those standards and processes are set forth in our Title IX Policy & Statement of Non-Discrimination (BPU) and our Title IX Sexual Harassment Policy (CC).

Bay Path University/Cambridge College reserves the right to amend, supplement, or modify this Code at any time.
