Any technological device that contains a camera must be used with caution on campus to protect the privacy and confidentiality of all members of the campus community. Subminiature cameras, spy cameras, and covert video cameras may not be used on campus. Cameras may be used on campus for approved purposes only. Approved purposes may include personal use for photos of self or others with their permission, special events, academic projects, and producing identification cards.

Photos and videos may be taken in classes, at events, and around campus for marketing and other purposes. Students who do not want their images taken or used in University marketing materials or social media are provided with the opportunity to opt out.
