Clinical Adjunct Faculty: In the Department of Physician Assistant Studies

Clinical adjunct faculty members must be graduates of an ARC-PA-accredited PA Program, currently certified by the NCCPA, hold a Master’s degree (or higher) and currently licensed unless employed in a federal institution that does not require state licensure. Physicians must be licensed and Board Certified by the Medical Board. Other professionals, such as Nurse Practitioners, must be appropriately licensed/certified by their applicable administrative component.

  1. Clinical Instructor
    Minimum Master’s degree or higher who has been nominated by a faculty member of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies and who meets the criteria for initial appointment noted above.
     
  2. Clinical Assistant Professor
    Minimum Master’s degree or higher with a minimum of three years of continuous adjunct faculty appointment or greatly exceeding number of completed Contribution Criteria elements during appointment.
     
  3. Clinical Associate Professor
    Earned doctoral degree from a regionally-accredited institution with a minimum of seven years of continuous adjunct faculty appointment. During the seven-year period, exhibit evidence of service such as state of AAPA Committee Chair or Board Member, elected office in a professional organization or receipt of award/recognition for contribution to the profession. During the seven-year period, exhibit evidence of scholarly publication such as monograph, book chapter, journal article, enduring CME activity or presentations at CME meetings sponsored by a state organization or AAPA, etc.
