Overview:

Program for recertification by the Puerto Rico Department of Education as Special Education K-12 teacher. Prior valid Puerto Rico teacher certification in another teaching area to get recertified in Puerto Rico.

This is a hybrid delivered program, with 60% of classes delivered synchronously and 40% delivered asynchronously through Canvas Learning Management System. The program is also authorized for delivery via an online modality, utilizing a format in which 49% or less of the instruction is conducted synchronously (either remote or in person at the Puerto Rico campus), while 51% or more is delivered asynchronously. This alternative is particularly advantageous for Spanish-speaking students residing
outside of Puerto Rico.

Students residing outside Puerto Rico should consult with their State Department of Education Certification Offices before enrolling this program.

In Puerto Rico, all classroom instruction and coursework are in Spanish.

Programa para recertification por el DEPR. Requiere poseer un certificado válido del DEPR de maestro en otra área.

Este programa está sujeto a cambios.

Este programa se imparte en modalidad híbrida, en la cual el 60 % de las clases se ofrece de manera sincrónica y el 40 % de manera asincrónica a través del sistema de gestión de aprendizaje Canvas. Asimismo, el programa está autorizado para ofrecerse mediante una modalidad en línea, utilizando un formato en el cual el 49 % o menos de la instrucción se realiza de forma sincrónica (ya sea remoto o de forma presencial en el campus de Puerto Rico), mientras que el 51 % o más se imparte de forma asincrónica. Esta alternativa resulta especialmente ventajosa para los estudiantes hispanohablantes que residen fuera de Puerto Rico.

Los estudiantes que residan fuera de Puerto Rico deben consultar con las oficinas de certificación del Departamento de Educación de su estado antes de matricularse en este programa.
