Students in the Traditional Undergraduate division may choose to pursue a double major within the same degree type, allowing them to develop expertise in two complementary fields of study. A double major results in the completion of all requirements for two distinct majors within a single degree type (e.g., two majors within a Bachelor of Science or two majors within a Bachelor of Arts).

Students are strongly encouraged to declare their double major as early as possible, ideally during their first year, by consulting with their academic advisor and Program Leader to ensure timely completion and proper course sequencing.

Declaration Process

To declare a double major, students must:

• Be enrolled in the Traditional Undergraduate division
• Consult with their academic advisor and Program Leader to discuss feasibility, course requirements, and potential impact on degree completion timeline.
• Complete the Change of Major Form with approval from their advisor and Program Leader.

Coursework Requirements

While overlapping coursework is counted toward meeting the requirements of both majors, double majoring requires additional coursework beyond that of the initial major. Students may need to enroll in extra terms/semesters as an undergraduate student to complete the additional coursework needed for both majors.

Recognition of Double Major Completion

Students who successfully complete a double major will be awarded one diploma with both majors formally recognized on the student's official academic transcript.
